About

  • The NMSU STEM Outreach center offers middle schools a unique opportunity to increase interest and achievement in STEM fields, inviting local schools to participate in NMSU’s Science Brain Battle.
  • Students hone in their problem-solving and mathematical skills by reading topographic maps, identifying bones of the human skeleton, placing fossils in a geologic timescale, and building their own Rube Goldberg contraptions.
  • Science Brain Battle is made possible with contributions from from Spaceport Tax Funding and the Academy of Young Scientists, and with the collaboration of Las Cruces Public Schools.
 

Goals

Science Brain Battle is dedicated to improving the quality of science education and increasing student interest in science. Students will participate in scientific challenges that build problem-solving and mathematical application skills. Students will be invited to participate in the end of semester Science Brain Battle Competition held at New Mexico State University.
